In Quarter 1, choir students in 6-8th grade meet before school 2 times a week to prepare for OPUS Honor Choir.
In 2026-27 - these students will additionally review/learn the national anthem to sing at our district HOME FOOTBALL & VOLLEYBALL GAMES. Students who are in this will be allowed to enter games for free if they sing the anthem.
In Quarter 2, choir students in 6-8th grade meet in the morning two times a week to perform carols in the community. Students must attend a minimum number of practices and may join us on fun winter runout day in December!
In Quarter 3, after winter break, choir students in 6-8th grade meet before and/or after school two times a week to prepare music at a regional honor choir festival in February. This is a great opportunity for students to practice and perform at a higher level as well meet singers from across SE Iowa!
In Quarter 4, DeVox is an auditioned group of 6-8th grade that practices one evening and one morning a week in. This group is comprised of 6-8th grade students who learn how to put together simple dancing and singing into a exciting energetic experience in May!
